Happy solstice?

Normally wouldn't question the celebration, marking the turn of the sun toward more light and warmth and all*.  But with the official time at 1:08 EST or whatever, it looks like I might actually see the damn thing.  Delta  (hissboohiss) has delayed Sister's flight, with an ETA of 11:35 PM as of now.

I don't generally plan on being awake that late, much less hanging around in an airport waiting room.

Go thou and celebrate each after thine own kind, and remember kindly those of us languishing in airline hell...

*Yes, this is Northern-Hemisphere-centric thinking.  I'm a Northern-Hemisphere-centric person.

As someone who recently hung around an airport at 3am and was _ever_ so glad to find a restaurant still open, I salute you.

Sadly, both the snack bar and the booze bar had closed long since.
