Civic obligations

Apparently living on the village green carries a price.  Most of the houses around that space have lights, inflatable Santas or Snowmen, reindeer on the roof, etc, etc, etc.  Place looks like a kitsch New England Christmas postcard, with the snowflakes sifting down under the streetlights.

Our street, one block over, maybe one house in five shows decorations.

I may try, but night photos of Xmas lighting rank up there in the "hard-to-impossible" range -- a lot of commercial shots turn out to be double exposures, or use fill flash. My digital camera is rather rudimentary.

Made one attempt, at -15C this evening. No results that I am prepared to share -- camera shake, streetlights blowing out the highlights on the snow, you name it. And I'm not gonna go play with a tripod in that stuff...
