(And fruit flies like a banana..)

Well, today the sun will set at about 4:20, damn those meddlesome beasts in Congress.  Maine belongs in Atlantic time -- just because John D. Rockefeller didn't want to have to reset his damned watch when he came up to Bar Harbor for vacation...

I wish somebody would realize that businesses are open long after dark these days, and completely do away with DST. While they're at it they could also put New England (or at least Maine) into AST.

it's half past two here (GMT) and the sun will be down by just after 4. It's already dim enough out there that the camera automatically activates the flash.

Since the clocks went back a week ago we've gone from sun just rising as I leave the house (about 6.30am) to sun not rising till after I get to work (almost 7.30am) - in one week. By this time next month the sun won't be up till I've been at work for some time will and have just gone down when I head home, at around 3.30pm.

You're rather north of us -- lattitudes get screwy across the pond.

I know - I find it surprising every year when we see New York getting blizzards on the news and we're still walking around with just a light jacket, cursing at the drizzly rain.
