Official high temperature yesterday 87 F, one degree shy of the all-time record for the date.  MOTS forecast for today.  I warned you that taking the air-conditioner out would have this effect...

(Back to highs in the 60s forecast for later in the week and weekend, normal for this time of year.)

Heard the song of the chainsaw this morning, another tree falling in the neighborhood.  We shall find out exactly where, or not, with our regularly-scheduled walks later.

You might as well laugh, because if you don't you'd have to cry...

I try to think of this weather as carbon-neutral, because if we were poking at the record lows instead, we'd be paying to feed our oil furnace.

I'm already crying, because I just got the electric bill. It may be carbon-neutral for you, but I'm trying to find out why our September electric bill is $200 when the August bill was only $160.

Well, at the noon news, we'd already tied the all-time high for the date. Expected to go higher.

Unprecedented heat. Literally.
