Showers today, temperature in the 60s F.  Forecast for highs around 70 on the weekend, and the TV weather folks were wondering out loud about who delivered autumn in the middle of August.

We like it.

I suspect that those of you in Texas, on the other hand, don't feel any particular need for TS Erin to dump another few feet of water on your heads...

Seeing as how that tropical storm shares my sister's name, it'll be par for the course. Drippy, violent, and completely unnecessary, and more than willing to leave the mess for someone else to clean up. Personally, though, seeing as how we may break a record for high temperatures today, I'll kvell for a good stout rainstorm tomorrow if it means that the local air gets a bit cleaner afterwards.

Dean is the likelier threat for us; Erin appears to be headed well south and west, toward Brownsville. And it's having a short run, whereas Dean will have been over warm water for 10 days by the time it makes landfall. This could get nasty.

Oh, I think we'll use the Orbital Weather-Control Lasers to move Dean on Venezuela...
