Sunday roadkill report
Aug. 12th, 2007 12:50 pmOne flat muskrat near the airport marsh upriver. Also enough squirrel and frog remains to make up the biomass of a real roadkill, maybe porcupine or raccoon...
Hauled my aging aching carcass out onto the bike, headed upriver and across (again walking the bike across the Bridge of Doom) and turned off into the hills to add a few miles. Warm and humid, temperature about 80 F when I got back, but almost no wind so generally a positive experience.
More of the usual suspects in the wildflower department, plus mullein, jewelweed, and Wife informs me that some of the asters are actually fleabane. Maybe we should plant some for the vagrant cats.
