Sunday roadkill report

Bra and panties in the ditch over near the log skidders and feller-bunchers of the forestry equipment dealer. Gives a . . . different . . . slant to the term "lumberjack." Also a few tattered shreds of rawhide here and there, could have been woodchuck or muskrat or skunk. Not porcupine, the quills would have remained identifiable.
Did get out on the bike, did survive, including the long hill of Burleigh Road. Could have gone further, but we shall practice a little moderation here. Wild asters are now blooming, in amongst the Queen Anne's lace and goldenrod. And purple loosestrife. Shall we just assume the Purple Plague, and cease to mention it?
Speaking of plagues, I do not know why I had to have the Kingston Trio singing "MTA" in my head for half the ride. Must be degenerating neurons firing their last charge, or something. Likewise, why have I been associating Shel Silverstein's "Unicorn" with Tommy Makem, since that was an Irish Rovers song?
The brain is going.
15.22 miles, 1:11:42
That leaves me a couple of hundred miles behind target for the year. I don't know if I'm going to reach 1000 this summer, what with another lost week coming up visiting the in-laws.

Date: 2007-08-05 03:39 pm (UTC)Buying would be semi out of the question if only because no shop I know carries the Kingston Trio.
