Temperature in the 90s yesterday, predicted repeat for today.  With high humidity, sufficient that the morning newspaper walk became unpleasant.

Thunderstorms expected this afternoon and evening.

I know you Florida and Texas people are laughing at my complaints.  But when you alternate this stuff with highs in the 60s, thereby creating our average high of 80, it gets tiresome.

I pity the guys reroofing the house behind our neighbors...

Hey, I'm not laughing, either. That's exactly the temperature and humidity I deal with on my daily bike rides, and the T-shirt so soaked with sweat that it's hanging up to drip-dry is proof. (I may give you a slight bit of grief about the temperatures during the winter, but I also remember, all too well, the heat wave in upstate New York in 1977. 93-degree highs, no air conditioning, and the realization that by the time it cools down enough to be able to sleep, it's time to get up and go to work. I had the same exact problem my last summer in Portland, OR, and it just gave me another reason to move the hell out.)

I figure that when I end up sweating from a half-mile walk at 6:30 AM, something's wrong. And I don't think it's _just_ the aftermath of this lingering summer cold...
