The trees seem to be getting the message. About half have changed or started, adding yellows from the aspens and birches and poplars to the scarlet maples and the purple of the ash. Only the oaks are still hanging back. Now it's a race between the laggards changing and the sprinters dropping their leaves. "They" say the north country and the mountains are near or at peak, we are at maybe 50%-75% around here, and the southern coastal areas are 30%-50%. Go out there, buy some cider at a local orchard, and enjoy!
Ornithology was a flock of maybe 50 Canada geese, flying low, right over my head. Those buggers are _loud._
50 miles, 4:03, Carmel and Levant need to spend some money on their roads. Fuller Road and the Horseback Road and Route 222 suck. That's a precise cyclist's term for pavement condition.
