Been watching, with the sort of curious fascinating horror of a train wreck at a distance, "discussions" on some of the private SFWA message boards. Lots of bottles of 100-proof Old Animosity being passed around and emptied and smashed in the fireplace.

And they wonder why they have trouble getting people to run for office.

Hey, if these people didn't nurse their grudges and train them and teach them to sic random passersby, they wouldn't have any reason to live. Personally, with that thought in mind, I now want to design a machine that erases grudges.

SFWA feuds are always like that. Scalzi's actually raised the level of this one.

I admit to ambivalence on Scalzi. He didn't know the elections were uncontested until he opened the ballot?
