I'm sure I've given the impression that my day-job work involves nothing but collapsing buildings and the threat of histoplasmosis (or whatever) from inhaled pigeon guano. Yesterday's start-up meeting involved neither.

This project will renovate the "ell" of one of the 1800s lumber-baron mansions, former servants' quarters and carriage house, into two apartment units. It includes such gems as a cooking fireplace with bake oven and warming shelf, wide-board pine floors, and hidden stairways.

Does involve some ceiling heights that could drive a claustrophobic screaming, though. And inevitable battles with the Historic Preservation Commission any time we want to change a window...

In other news, it's raining.
