Need more snow

Did go up to the university this afternoon, in search of skiing. They _had_ groomed the trails. This broke up the crust, but allowed rocks and sticks and grass and stuff to intrude upon the surface. Noted several rocks with colored streaks on them, residue of someone's late lamented ski.
Wild turkey on the shoulder of the road on the way up, pecking at gravel for her crop. Mein Gott, those birds look Jurassic.
Numerous deer tracks all over the place, plus what I think were moose tracks. Also canid scats, some with enough hair in them that I diagnose coyote or fox rather than dog.
