Still waiting for Godot

Well, yesterday's "storm" produced a total of less than 1" of snow. Just enough to make the roads dicey, inducing Wife to request chauffeur service out to the nature center and return (both cars have AWD and ABS, but she prefers my winter driving skills to hers....) Yeah, that doubles the mileage, but it's cheaper than wear and tear on her nerves. We're only talking an additional 12 miles here.

Snowing again now, with forecast of 4" - 8" accumulation. Or maybe mixed precip -- depends on whether we're in the mountains, the north, or coastal this time. Plate tectonics rules!

One thing about light fresh snow: you'd be amazed at the amount of overnight cat traffic we get around here. Tracks everywhere.

Skis waxed, snowblower fueled.

We're getting ice down here in the sunny south. It doesn't seem as severe as the reports from the midwest, but I'm not planning on going anywhere today.

Classes start tomorrow. Tell younger son to beware the idiots on the roads, although I expect he knows this.

He doesn't drive. Just has to survive the walk from Forest Park to Conant, or whatever other hall draws his business this semester.

I stayed in yesterday. The urge to bake did not beat down the don't-want-to-deal-with-idiots-on-the-road factor. Though I suspect I'll drop by a grocery store on my way home. It's right across the street from work.

The weather was nice and didn't start snowing really until I got to work. Going home should be fun. Weeee! At least all this should be done with by Thursday, when I actually have to travel more than to work and back.

Snow is pretty.

If it's going to be cold, there had better be snow.
