...about a dead chipmunk lying apparently undamaged in the middle of the road. But some crow or coyote will be happy.

Otherwise a beautiful day, lows in the 30s F this morning, afternoon in the 60s, blue sky, sun, little wind. The yellow-jacket that landed on my leg during the bicycle ride did _not_ sting me. All's well.

More trees turning red/orange/yellow/purple every day, even a dusky yellowness to the tamaracks. If any of you hypothetical audience are leaf-peepers, another week or two should get us there.

1314 miles total at the end of the month. May manage to hit 1400 for the year, weather willing. October can be chancy.

Brisk this morning here -- but a brilliant clear day fore the run to the Post Office in the early afternoon -- could see mountains northwest of Farmington and mountains North East of Bangor... guess that's a bit of distance...

Tree color right in the neighborhood kind of mixed, but I'd agree that we're not 1 week to 10 days from full color...

Hope you are both right -- the weekend of 15 October is when I and the bf are taking his mom leaf peeping in NH.
