(Obscure 60's folk-rock reference)

Mild amusement that Person garnering a bunch of Grammy award nominations is somebody I've never even heard of. Plus, Person has a dyslexic name -- I keep reading it as "Bilge", which may be a Freudian slip to somebody of my antiquated musical tastes...

Snow last night, continuing into current space -- mebbe 4" accumulated so far. Got my Vigorous Physical Exercise shoveling out the driveway and de-icing Wife's car, waved her off to play bumper-cars with the combined Village Idiots of the entire state all concentrated on the six miles between here and Nature Center...

Snowplow just rumbled by, which means I have to shovel the end of the driveway again before I can head out to the Pigeon Loft for my weekly "Why'd they do _that_?" refresher...

I lost my harmonica, Albert.

I always wondered if he was talking to Albert or if Albert was the name of his harmonica.

And now I've got that bassline running through my head.

Albert...as I recall from the days of being one of Baltimore's most published (I hate to say best or even best-known) folk-and-rock music critic ... was the name of the recording engineer, not the harmonica Albert.

Oh the useless news we know...

Amazing how that fade-out line sticks in the head, innit?

Depending on which flat spot I measure... we've got 5 inches, 5.5 inches, or 7 inches of snow. With the wind, I think the 7 inch number is off -- probably the snow blown off the roof landed there...

Noon news laid claim to about 2" here. I think where you stand depends on where you sit...

Getting along toward late for making Yule card pictures, eh? Drive up to North Conway with your camera -- they ain't called White Mountains for nothing.

Eh. It isn't until 12/22 anyhow. I've got time to get photo taken, reprinted many times, stuffed in to the photo cards waiting on the mantel, and taken to the post office. Perhaps I should address the envelopes now and stamp them...

I was reading Dylan Thomas poetry by myself in my college cafeteria when my friend Christopher, who was then my acquaintance Christopher, came in with his dinner tray. "What are you reading?" he asked. "Dylan Thomas," I said, "you know, 'he's so unhip, when you say Dylan, he thinks you're talkin' 'bout Dylan Thomas." Christopher nodded sagely: "Whoevah he was."

I was pleased.
