The sun also rises

And the evening and the morning were of the third day...
STILL NOT RAINING!
Frost coating the cars and roofs and lawns of our fair city, temperature around 24 F at breakfast time, but NO RAIN.
Unlike the lemmings of the nation, or other rodential mass-migrators, we will not be taking to the roads today, over the river and through the woods to grandmother's house for Thanksgiving. The AAA opines that many millions of others will be, that statistic providing more than ample incentive to us to stay home. Wife has acquired a ceremonial chicken to roast tomorrow, which will serve as a surrogate for the totem bird. I don't care that much for turkey anyway, and for two people...
When I went for my after-dinner walk last night, Tiger the Cat was acting weird. Weird even for a cat, that is, trotting across the street to meet me and complaining mightily about something, then ambushing my feet and ankles when I attempted to leave before being dismissed. Followed me four houses down the block, then started yowling after me when I persisted in walking on. I think I was supposed to do something about a door...
(No, Tiger is not _our_ cat. We do not have a Personal Cat, making do with assorted neighborhood stand-ins, thereby avoiding the Personal Litter Box, the Personal Cat Vomit On The Bed, and the Personal Vet Bills.)
