Maine remains agressively purple

Our senator (republican) and two representatives (democrats) returned to national office with heavy majorities. I use the lower-case titles because none of them are extremists and thereby gain the ire of the party faithful.

Washington looks to be . . . interesting . . . for a while. In particular, Maine's RINO "republican" senators look to be the fulcrum on a lot of things.

The buggers deserve it.

Olympia Snowe is a wonderful Republican. She'd fit right in with the progressives like Teddy Roosevelt and Herbert Hoover (one of the greatest Americans ever, in spite of a presidency where he couldn't get any help from Congress). I just hope the party reforms itself around her and others like her as it takes stock of what went wrong.
