Don't care what the calendar says. The furnace went on, the trees are turning, and the sky holds that peculiar depth of blue that comes with dry Canadian air. And the buzzing things are coating the aster flowers, adding hazard to simple chores like mowing the lawn or hanging out the laundry.

Time to pull the air conditioner out of the window and close up the attic vents.

No furnace here yet -- it's been cool outsie but inside it hasn't dropped under 65, I think. Guess the new roof, windows, and doors are paying off.

Looks like the next few days will be at or above 70; my guess is that'll save us fuel for the enxt week or so.
