Asters asters uber alles. And we haven't had a killing frost yet, so the tansy is starting another round of blooms.

No roadkill to report, not even squirrels.

Cultural oddity, one of the paired synagogues on the start of my route had a pickup truck parked out front, with a "Mobile Sukkot" in the bed. I don't know if they take that around to housebound members of the congregation, or what.

Temperature in the 60s F and little wind, rode across town and over to the base and back. No interesting birds, either feathered or metal. This may or may not be the last ride of the year. Or, given my age, the last ride of all. Anyway, supposed to turn colder after the storm. Did not die.

Perhaps the mobile Sukkot is for those who couldn't construct their own for the ritual meals after Yom Kippur. Mind you, the Jewish part of my family is able-bodied and can do the needful things for the holidays.
