jhetley30-40 geese at the cemetery pond when I headed out, plus indeterminate ducks. Flocks gathering. I don't recommend walking there, either.
Roadkill limited to a possible red squirrel too flat for positive ID, plus garter snake equally flat but I could still see the stripes.
Rode upriver and then inland and back through the bog, red maples all turned and a lot of the leaves down. Asters everywhere, goldenrod, and some diehard chicory/cornflower. Dodging acorns and apples in the road. Did not die. Ride takes me over 800 miles for the year. 900 may be possible, 1000 not.
