Sunday floral report
Sep. 10th, 2023 12:49 pmNew variety of goldenrod seems to have kicked in. Saw a yard with yellow hawkweed pushing a second bloom. Also, whole thickets of the invasive Japanese knotweed battling with purple loosestrife for world domination. They'll probably divide us up, wetland to the loosestrife and uplands to the knotweed . . .
No roadkill beyond more ill-timed frogs. Also, no ducks, geese, or herons at the cemetery pond. Wife thinks we had a north wind a few nights back to boost them on their way. Seems early for the mass migration, but moving a few ponds over might satisfy an itch.
Not raining, not windy, got out on the bike. A dite chilly at the start, 60s F, but I worked up a sweat soon enough. Did not die.
