Well, thanks to the miracle that is the internet, I now know that Younger Son's alleged plane got into Heathrow about ten minutes _after_ his connecting flight to that place on the Neva River departed.  I suspect they missed their connection...

And, of course, I have no idea if they even took that flight.  They'd been trying to change reservations to an earlier flight across the Pond.

Yeah, parents obsess.  Ya got a problem wit' dat?

the way Heathrow's been recently, even if his plane had arrived on time, he'd have missed his connection.

Hopefully he got that earlier flight - or was rebooked by the airline for a different connection.

And hopefully he'll do the sensible thing and contact his parents as soon as he has access to a phone or email connection.

He has now reported in via email, no mention of hanging around Heathrow for hours _or_ a mad dash between planes. So I am assuming the earlier flight.
