Well, temperatures into the 80s F today, forecast for 90+ tomorrow, with humidity. Took advantage of the presence of Elder Son (doing his laundry, ex-apartment-mates having decamped with their shared laundry machines) to install the air conditioner. This is not a trivial task, involving several shims that I cut and shaved to fit out of stock lumber to adapt a modern window-mounted machine in decidedly not-modern windows, with aluminum storm frames added. Also sections of foam padding to seal up the gaps remaining after everything solid has settled into place.

No power tools needed, though, so it doesn't really count as Guy Time.

Poked and prodded at SIGNATURES this morning, adding in a bit about a couple of women in Fat Wizard's life who aren't on speaking terms with each other. He doesn't know why, but they have good reason.

And I'm still not on speaking terms with my knees. Tomorrow's ride may be called into question.

Totally off topic - The Door Into Summer was the first Heinlein book I ever read. It caught my eye at the library because of a Monkees song with the same title - hey, I was eleven, I thought the Monkees were hawt. I still have a sneaky affection for it, even if it doesn't stand up well on re-reading. And when the Roomba came on the market several years ago, Charlie and I took one look at it and chimed, "It's Eager Beaver!" in unison.

Can I have the brain when you're done with it? I had SUCH a crush on Davy Jones!

Oh my, yes! And Peter Tork, especially after he grew long sideburns.

My favorite "brain go 'splodey" memory is the Monkees on tour with the Jimi Hendrix Experience - talk about cognitive dissonance! Imagine all those unsuspecting teenyboppers being exposed to Hendrix!

Well, enough heavy lifting can fall into 'Guy Time', even without power tools. All depends how mighty your air conditioner is.

Don't think it's really heavy enough to count.
