jhetleyMarriage is under attack throughout the western world. Divorce runs rampant, with failure as the norm rather than the exception. Single-parent (or no-parent) families have become normal, parallel to families with altogether too _many_ parents* confusing the mix.
It's those damned heterosexuals. Ban heterosexual marriage and you'll solve the problem.
*Leads to puzzling situations. Like this summer, we will have to attend two sets of wedding functions for a Wife's cousin's offspring, because said offspring's parents have formed other attachments and aren't speaking to each other. Who the hell ever thought up the brilliant idea of a morning-after brunch for the happy couple? They're supposed to be off in some honeymoon suite fornicating their brains out...
