So I pick up the phone, and there's James Earl Jones wanting to talk to me about Verizon. Do I _really_ want to buy my phone service from Darth Vader?

Hung up on him, and then I got to thinking. Did I just trigger a command to the Death Star? Remember that old ATT slogan, "Reach out and touch someone."

Well, I've never had quite so strong an image with the TV ads and the print ads and such, because there's this chubby aging black guy, but the telemarketing -- it's nothing but The Voice.

I expected to hear him wheezing.
