We've been living with cheap money for so long, having to pay interest to borrow capital frightens the markets. I'm old enough to remember when you would get 3% to 4% interest on savings deposits. With a stable economy.

I remember going to the bank with my Mother to set up a savings account (I was 7). 5% interest. For years I thought that must be the default.
