Saturday roadkill report

Woodchuck, crow, painted turtle, a couple of snowshoe hares -- a decent bag, but not spectacular.
I decided that I wasn't going to let a bunch of microscopic velcro balls stop me from riding. Show those trees just who's in charge around here, etc. Plus, I've found that pollen doesn't bother me much while I'm riding. Maybe it's the wind, but I usually don't start to react until after the ride is over. Now, back to that package of generic benedryl...
Also, _not_ in the roadkill report, I spotted an American Bittern. They aren't rare, but they're rarely seen. I was pedaling along the Kennebec Road, minding my own business, when I realized that a certain clump of dried cattails had legs and was moving... Funny-looking bird. I passed about ten feet from it, no binoculars needed.
Words may occur this afternoon. Or I may watch hockey.
