I probably should explain these cryptic entries of name and unit and location. These entries recognize men (no women yet, although I'm sure that will come) with Maine ties who have died in the line of duty. They died serving our nation, doing what we told them to do. I don't give a damn about your politics, dear readers. As a _nation_, we placed these soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines in Harm's Way.

I ask you to stop for a moment and think about their sacrifice and honor it. Their names deserve at least this brief mention.

I can't think of any words noble enough to do justice to the people you are remembering or sentiment behind your posts. All I can say is that I can always spare a moment to remember those comrades-in-arms who have made the ultimate sacrifice, to offer a good thought and a prayer for them and their families and friends. Thank you for remembering them, thank you for honoring them.

I had figured it was something like that. What you're doing is a Good Thing.

Yes, a very Good Thing indeed. Like others have said, thank you, Jim for honoring our folks in harm's way.

I added a comment to your latest post, about our Wing's first and - please God - only combat fatality. I don't know where Walt was from, only that he left a hole in our heart here that will not quickly heal.
