Woe and portents of doom

Well, the University of Maine lost. As noted in another thread, I meant that verb -- not gonna go with the polite fiction that Wisconsin won. You can't pretend to compete at that level and give up short-handed goals all season long.
Looks like I'll be doing another of those weird old building renovations downtown, just across and up the street from a current project. Another combined building, two instead of three this time, with odd floor and ceiling level changes and another building blocking half of the rear of one of the buildings and the usual selection of late 1800s "Why the _hell_ did they do _that_?" construction details. Met with the owners and the contractor this morning, same contractor as several other projects of similar ilk, so he knows what he's getting into. As should I, but I guess I'll do it anyway. Three-dimensional jigsaw puzzles can be fun.
No writing yet today. I've left Fat Wizard leaning on his crutches on the sidewalk in a questionable neighborhood while Real Life proceeds. At least I let him check his weapons first.
