I see a few irate people questioning whether a couple of Senators are actually Democrats. You are aware that they are the reason why Mitch isn't Majority Leader right now, yes?

to all other intents and purposes, they are DINOs, and we see better "party loyalty" from Independents King and Sanders.

People choose party allegiance for both practical and weird reasons.

But we are left with two things that are hard to get around. One, M's entire family fortune is in fossil fuels. My complaint about his tender belief that he can get a GOP terrified of the ghost in their closet on board is that I don't think he can pull it off. Unless the ghost is finally hauled into court. Then we might see if there is anything left of the opposition. My worry/confusion is, fossil fuels people knew what was really going on for decades. If they haven't already positioned themselves in clean energy, I question their smarts. :(

Two--S is a dark horse, a once green libertarian who may actually have views. But may still think she can lure enough independent Azers into supporting her when she's up for re-election--or that her state will forget her transgressions. My worry with her is, rumor has it that what she wants is in opposition to what M wants. That's a Problem.

Either way, I hope that they are convinced that Mitch would throw them under the bus if they switched--they did vote to impeach 45. They are ours, the capricious conservative branch of the Dem party. And they do hold our majority--"our" being people who are not into an autocracy of oligarchs/kleptocracy.
