High wind warnings for today, with predictions of gusts up to 60 mph along the coast. We are changing our air again. Temperature in the 40s F when I got up, likely to go below 0 F tonight. In case any of you beloved readers think I'm exaggerating the weird factor of our weather this winter, yesterday clocked another record high for the date.

Added words to SIGNATURES yesterday, getting my head back into that universe. I think I've mentioned before that this story uses a totally different "voice" and setting than my previous work, so that swapping between it and DRAGON'S TEETH troubles my brain. If, in the final work (may it find print), you notice a continuity break between chapters 13 and 14, you'll know why. Of such things are future English Lit dissertations made....

Do you have snow or just wind? It's going to be 80 today. 81 tomorrow.
40 is a record high?

Yesterday's high was 51 F (or 52, depending on the source), the record. No snow yet. The weather wizards predicted rain, but no sign of that either.

...as well as not insubstantial ingredients in scholarly articles on comparative fantasy...

I should have warned you... I've been taking notes...

Just remember, some parts of my public image also tend towards fiction. Like a certain Sailor, I sometimes tell the story that _should_ have happened.

Ahem ...

Yes, but you, Sir, are a paid writer.

To the good side is the fame and fortune (and the fact that my mother loves your stuff).

To the bad side, Oprah might bitch slap you publicly if she catchy you making anything up.

I believe it balances out, but I might be mistaken ...

I do not fear Oprah. Do you have any _idea_ what that manure-pitching contest has done for the guy's sales?

(Besides, all my published stuff is clearly labeled as fiction.)
