...When the battle's lost and won.
And meanwhile, back at the hyphens -- Wife has made her run through the manuscript and found several places where I had let the copy-edit have its way with me, and she thought I shouldn't. And also pointed out that I use end-of-sentence ellipses in too many places....
So I have gone back and followed her notes and deleted ten or twenty of the buggers. I _think_ this marks -The End- on this stage of the process, but I may let the manuscript marinate for a week before mailing it back. I have, after all, until the end of the month to deliver it to its fate.
Colder today, highs supposed to be below freezing as opposed to our record high (for the date, of course) on Sunday. No snow on the ground. I _think_ the ground thawed over the weekend, as a mini-lake in the neighbor's yard vanished.
