Tribal governor of one of the Passamaquoddy bands died the other night, his pickup skidded on black ice and slid into an oncoming truck. Classic Route 9 winter accident. He was heading home from a media to-do celebrating the arrival of fuel aid (from Venezuela) for the folks on Indian Island.
There's this long tradition, speak no ill of the dead. But in this case, the guy was truly a good man. I worked with him on a couple of projects down on the Pleasant Point reservation, offices for the housing authority and renovations to the school, and found him a joy to work with. He will be missed.
