Interlude pending

Air temperature 34 F, wind northwest about 5 mph, fog. Rain overnight has headed out, making way for tonight's snow. Winter storm warning -- we are forecast 4" to 8" accumulation, with dropping temperatures so the water/snow ratio is up in the air. Literally. Also, gale warning offshore.

Interim report

Sunny and bare grass over in the park. So much for the start of a cross-country skiing loop that a neighborhood snowmobile owner had started to groom. On the other hand, I should be okay with shoes rather than boots for my walk.

Treacherous surface

Got in my full walk route but all that tai chi practice came in handy. Even on foot, black ice looks a lot like asphalt . . .

Number of skids, no falls. Rewarded with a cat friend. She has four feet, better than two for the conditions.
