Hand-basket morning

Air temperature 54 F, wind south about 6 mph, fog. I can see across the park okay, but the radio towers have vanished and the airport visibility is about a mile. May attempt a bike ride, even though I don't usually do consecutive days -- tomorrow is supposed to get cold. AKA "seasonable" . . .

Among the problems with democracy is that, if a majority decides to oppress or even eliminate a minority, it is still a democratic process. You have to persuade enough of the majority to not do that. Desegregation and even the end of slavery happened in the South only because of Northern votes and Northern blood.

Wednesday windy report

As noted, I don't usually ride two days in a row. Old bodies don't like that kind of treatment. But we're headed into colder, have had snow by this point in some past years. So I aimed the bike across town and by the airport and over some hills and home. No roadkill to report, no flowers beyond asters, metal birds limited to several KC-135 takeoffs that could even have been the same plane doing "patterns" to get in flight hours.

Windy, as noted. Leaves falling in showers, forming drifts on the road that could be hazards to a bike or hide other hazards. Passed by a couple of flocks of school busses heading to the high school. Did not die.
