Indigenous day

Air temperature 44 F, wind northeast gusting near 20 mph, raining. Today is a legal holiday here, celebrating who or what depends on who you ask. Since I have no known Italian or Spanish heritage, I will celebrate our literal neighbors.

Backyard enrichment

Chickadees continue to raid our thistle seed. They weren't all blown to New Brunswick in the latest wind.

Of course, they are year-round residents here, so they should know how to cope.
