Damp boring morning

Air temperature 64 F, wind northwest about 5 mph, raining. The rain is supposed to move on out before I have to deal with getting my drivers license renewed, in person. For which I have an alleged appointment. Meanwhile, I need to go out and empty a mouse trap. Neighborhood cats are not doing their duty.

Thursday floral report

St. John's wort blooming by the roadside, privet hedges stinking up the neighborhood, new varieties of daisies blooming that I can't sort out from bike distances. Even the late lupines have seed pods ripening.

No roadkill. Did hear a couple of mockingbirds claiming territory, none of them the one in my morning newspaper snippet.

Biked across town to the airport, no interesting metal birds. Back up over the hills and home again, home again, jiggity jig. Did not die.
