Pending inspection

Air temperature 68 F, wind southwest about 6 mph, cloudy. Have not had a chance to inspect the nest this morning, to see if the last fledgling has left. We have a good-sized yew bush right next to the azalea that could hide any number of youngsters that still don't quite understand wings.

Last catbird report

Nest has been verified empty, and no fledglings spotted in the azalea bush. Since we have not banded any of the family, further catbird sightings in the neighborhood may or may not be the same birds. In other avian reproduction news, I have seen at least two spotted-breast (youngster) robins in our back yard, foraging without parents.
