Sunday floral report
Jun. 16th, 2024 01:13 pmBladder campion blooming, crown vetch has joined the roadside clover and trefoil, and some kind of viburnum that I can't ID from the bike. Orange hawkweed extending into the hinterlands, more roses both bush and rambling, a few blue flags still blooming in the bog. Lupines starting to set seed on the lower parts of their flower spikes.
Roadkill limited to one gray squirrel and one probable red squirrel. No geese at the cemetery pond -- must be out herding goslings around. Incompetent mimic singing on one side loop, so we don't seem to have the only catbirds around.
Got out on the bike, upriver and back, may try for another ride tomorrow before the heat clamps down. Did not die.
