Air temperature 30 F, wind near calm, clear sky. Sun does not seem to have taken any damage from yesterday's wolf encounter. Since we don't seem to have triggered the apocalypse, foraging on schedule for today.

So far, no reports of losing people in the Frozen North or the Great Mud. Traffic jams heading south, yes. Satisfaction rate reported to be high.

Outer hyacinths blooming now. These get less heat from our basement and also from sun on the foundation. Tulips up but not showing buds yet. Leaf buds on the honeysuckle and forsythia swelling, as well as flower buds on the azaleas. Some of the rose stems budding out too, but that plant is on probation. Too close in under the eaves.
