Air temperature 2 F, wind near calm, clear sky. We may get above freezing this afternoon, and warmer still into the weekend. Wind and rain forecast Sunday evening into Monday. Trash out, so I have achieved my purpose in life.

Disappointed birds

Gulls circling around, singing "Where has all the garbage gone." They know it is trash day, they can see the bins, they know the ancient lore, but the current bin design* is resistant to gulls and crows. Not to raccoons or bears, of course.

*Our city has uniform bins, provided by the waste company, that can be emptied by mechanism.

Good news and bad news

Met up with both Sasha and Louie on the afternoon walk. Both petted. I'm afraid Louie is not well -- listless, fur rough, and I could feel his spine too well. Also, Sasha didn't try to hog all the attention. She was her usual active self, but seemed to accept Louie getting some love.
