Air temperature 68 F, light northwest wind, fog. Visibility .75 miles at the airport. May summon up enough ambition to get out on the bike, see if last night's noise blew up anything important.

Wednesday fungal report

Wet weather has mushrooms popping up all over. Some look like common meadow mushrooms, edible, but I see jack-o-lanterns and Amanitas, so you take your chances. We forage our mushrooms at the supermarket.

No roadkill. Potential roadkill, deer ambling across the road in front of me in a 45 mph road, no place to take your time.

No odd metal birds at the airport. KC 135 taking off as I rolled up to my water stop, and two SAS airliners parked on the apron. Maybe diverted? They don't service our site.

Got out earlier than usual due to heat -- 74 F when I left, 84 now, with dew point 69. Sticky icky. Did not push, did not die.

Tired of snobs

Snobs exist in so many fields -- food, visual art, writing, music . . . if you aren't doing it their way, you aren't doing it right. It's a method of dividing people into those who matter and those who don't.
