Meanwhile, the chipmunks are harvesting the vining strawberries as they ripen. We aren't competing -- these plants are ornamentals, with too many seeds to be worth eating. For humans, that is.

Worthwhile steam-bath walk

Small Black Kitty was waiting on their driveway when I got there. He/she/it got the amount of petting they wanted and ambled off. Also, had a catbird meowing directly at me from a fence near the school. I suspect it was telling a youngster in that honeysuckle tangle to sit tight.
