Sunday roadkill report
Jul. 2nd, 2023 12:57 pmOne painted turtle by the side of the road near the bog, upside down. Couldn't see any markings beyond the yellowish plastron, but it wasn't a snapper and that's the only other common turtle we have.
Swamp candles/yellow loosestrife starting to bloom in the bog, white sweet clover perfuming the air, and a few early blossoms on the common mullein spikes. Also, some of the roses in the mowing zone of our roads have recovered enough to bloom.
Got misted in a couple of spots, mainly high points where I was probably disturbing low clouds, but managed to slip a bike ride in without rain. Did not die.
