Saturday wildlife report
May. 13th, 2023 01:19 pmFirst woodchucks of the season viewed. Two imitating stumps and one pretending to be a rock. They had the colors right, but neither object moves when you aren't looking. Also, two geese in that dormant construction site. No way to tell if they were a pair or were males out browsing while the ladies kept a nest warm.
Flowering wild mustard, probably early cress, and lilies of the valley showing flower stalks but not open yet.
C-5 out at the base. Thought there was a C-130 warming up, but I saw it taxi out and it was a commercial flight, just sounded the same.
Rode across town, serenaded by a mockingbird over near the police station. Windy slog, but did not die.
