Patriots Day damp

Air temperature 52 F, wind northeast about 5 mph, overcast. Roads wet, not actually raining. Patriots Day observed today in Maine and Massachusetts under Monday holiday rules. Samuel Prescott didn't actually ride until the 18th of April, and the battles happened on the 19th. Thus do we muddy history.

Having written some of it myself, I am well aware that fiction is contrived. Characters and conflicts invented, to make the story. However, I believe that shouldn't be quite so obvious in the finished product.
