Calendar deceives

Air temperature 29 F, wind west about 6 mph, snowing. Not supposed to amount to much, and I can still see across the park. Some years winter lasts into May.

Unsatisfactory

Louie was out on my morning walk route, but not inclined to get his paws cold and wet by coming out for petting. He blinked recognition from his loaf in the sun. One woodpecker on the elm, two geese low near the river, a flock of waxwings working the ornamental fruit trees. And I found some ice under the light dusting of snow. Whee. No permanent injury yet noticed.
