Sunday aster and goldenrod report
Sep. 11th, 2022 01:04 pmRoadsides alive with yellow and purple, late summer flowers. Also some jewel-weed, goats-beard, vetch, and late butter-and-eggs.
Roadkill limited to a couple of gray squirrels and a fragmented skunk, not odorous. Not-roadkill, a couple of herds of turkeys, one in un-mowed field and the other in back yards, so I couldn't get accurate counts of either. Kept an eye on power lines and the roadside branches in case of migrating hawks, but none seen.
No visiting metal birds at the base. Seemed to be an army guard weekend, with the Blackhawks fluttering around.
Got out on the bike, shortened route due to heat and humidity. Did not die.
