Air temperature 58 F, wind near calm, sunny with continued smoke haze aloft. Trash out, so I have performed my social function for the day.

Cynical comment

I'm not seeing the usual internet rage over the latest mass shooting. I guess that if an "assault rifle" isn't involved, it doesn't count.

Unfair universe

And again I am presented with a slate of sports this afternoon in which I am denied the option of having both teams lose.

Infinite squirrels

I had not realized the full consequences of having a large red oak on the new property. Acorns all over the driveway and sidewalks, and rodents everywhere.
