Too old to be tough

Air temperature 64 F, wind southwest about 5 mph, sunny. Supposed to get up into the 80s F again today, so bike ride early and not full length. This bike obsession is supposed to improve my health, not damage it . . .

Once again we have people searching the corners of the world to find things to enrage us. Don't waste your effort, folks. While you are doing that, something else will find *you* and bite you on the ass.

Sunday roadkill/floral report

Dead porcupine on the center line about 6 miles into my ride, skunk similarly positioned about a mile further on, both relatively fresh. Skunk not particularly odorous, which sometimes happens.

Definite asters, including one clump of the small purples. Also some knapweed with its weird flowers, and a lot of goldenrod and tansy.

Rode a bit further downriver but not an extended outing, temperature 84 F when I got home. Did not die. Ride takes me over 800 miles for the year.
